Lane Closures On Auckland Harbour Bridge
Lane Closures On Auckland Harbour Bridge
Transit New Zealand would like to advise all motorists travelling over the Auckland Harbour Bridge that there will be lane closures this coming Saturday night (1 February 2003).
Lanes 1 & 2 northbound (the two clip-on lanes), and the Curran Street on-ramp will be closed to allow for resurfacing work to be undertaken on the northern side of the bridge (near Northcote Point).
The closure will take place from 7pm until 10am, and during this time the moveable median lane barrier will be positioned to allow for three northbound and three southbound lanes to continue operating for traffic.
Transit has delayed the start of these works to minimise the impact on traffic travelling from the North Shore to the ‘Starlight Symphony’ at the Auckland Domain.
The noisier aspect off the work (milling) is scheduled to finish by 11pm. This will be followed by paving operations and lane markings, which will be completed in time to reopen the lanes no later than 10am on Sunday 2 February.
All work is weather permitting, and in the case of inclement weather, work will resume on the next clear weekend.
Transit thanks
motorists, and residents, in advance for their co-operation
and apologises for any
inconvenience.
