Lower Domain Drive access changes

Lower Domain Drive access changes

Transit New Zealand advises all motorists that there will be changes to access from Lower Domain Drive to Stanley Street, in Grafton Gully, from Monday 17 February.

Traffic will no longer be able to turn right from Lower Domain Drive into Stanley Street because of changes in the road layout throughout the Grafton Gully area.

Motorists from Lower Domain Drive wanting to access Beach Road are advised to use Grafton Road, Symonds Street and Alten Road.

In addition to the access changes around Lower Domain Drive, over the coming weeks there will be a number of changes to road layout and possible traffic movements in this area.

A new stretch of State Highway is due to open on 24 February, and will replace the existing Grafton Road motorway off-ramp. Southern and Northwestern Motorway traffic will soon travel under the new Wellesley Street Bridge (currently under construction) and the new Grafton Road Bridge to directly access Stanley Street at the intersection at Alten Road.

All changes will be outlined in advertisements in the New Zealand Herald and local newspapers.

Transit thanks all road users for their co-operation. Additional information regarding the changes, and the Grafton Gully Project in general, is available from the project information centre on the corner of Stanley Street and Alten road, or by phoning 0800 ToFreeflow (0800 863 733)
