Aerial Operation On Painted Apple Moth Completed
THE CURRENT AERIAL OPERATION TO WIPE OUT THE PAINTED
APPLE MOTH WAS COMPLETED TODAY – MONDAY 17th
MARCH
After a week of disappointing delays due to unfavourable weather conditions the current operation, planned for Monday March 10th, was completed today (Monday 17 March).
Following a short time in the air on Friday, when one third of the zone was treated before high winds grounded the aircraft, the aerial operation recommenced at first light this morning. Three aircraft were able to complete the remaining area of approximately 6,000 hectares, almost two thirds of the entire eradication zone, this morning (Monday 17 March) and were back on the ground by 12.05pm.
The target date for the next general aerial operation is Monday 31st March weather permitting.
