TRAFFIC BULLETIN
Khyber Pass On-ramp closure
Transit New Zealand advises all road users that from 6 pm Saturday (29 March) until midday Sunday (30 March), the Khyber Pass on-ramp and the extreme lefthand southbound motorway lane between Khyber Pass and Gillies Avenue will be closed for works on the Maungawhau Road Bridge.
The above closures
are required to allow work, including concrete pours, to
take place on the Maungawhau Bridge. The Gillies Ave
off-ramp will remain open to southbound traffic despite the
closure of the auxiliary lane on the motorway.
Motorists
are requested to use alternative on-ramps during closures
and avoid the area as much as possible. Transit also reminds
motorists to drive carefully past road works and be mindful
of signs.
In case of inclement weather, the works will be carried out on the following weekend, 5/6 April.
The work is part of Stage 1 (Khyber Pass to Gillies Ave) of the Central Motorway Junction upgrading project which, when completed, will improve the efficiency, safety and access of the junction.
For more information about the project, visit the project information centre at the corner of Stanley Street & Alten Road, phone 0800 ToFreeflow (0800 863 733) or visit the Transit website www.transit.govt.nz.
