Free bus travel for Veterans on ANZAC Day
Free bus travel for Veterans on ANZAC Day
This coming ANZAC Day, Friday 25 April, Stagecoach Wellington and Cityline Hutt Valley are offering free bus travel for War Veterans.
“ANZAC Day is the day each year, which is set aside in both New Zealand and Australia, to remember and honour the men and women who have fought for our freedom,” says Darryl Bellamy, Stagecoach New Zealand’s Wellington Operations Director. “On Thursday, communities throughout our region will commemorate the landing of the ANZAC forces at Gallipoli in the Dardanelles in 1915. We hope that by offering free bus travel to our war veterans, we too will remember.”
Stagecoach and Cityline bus drivers have been
instructed to give free travel to war veterans, by
identifying them through the wearing of their war medals
and/or display of RSA badges.
