Time To Thank Volunteers
Time To Thank Volunteers
Manukau City Council is to recognise and acknowledge the people of Manukau who volunteer their time and energy to their city and community.
Mayor Sir Barry Curtis says, “Volunteers are critical to the quality of life and effective functioning of our city. I am tremendously proud of the contribution volunteers have made to our city, and to acknowledge these wonderful people Council will be holding a civic function to say thank you.
“I would like to seek the publics assistance in the nomination of volunteers to be invited to this celebration, on 24 June 2003. If you know of someone deserving of this recognition, please fill in a nomination form.”
Nomination forms which are available from Council’s Citizen and Customer Centre, Manukau libraries, Citizens Advice Bureaux, Howick Information Centre, community houses, recreation and arts centres, should be forwarded to Council by 6 June.
Should nominations exceed 700, not all nominees will be able to be invited.
It is estimated that
there are over twenty thousand volunteers in Manukau. This
is your opportunity to thank someone
special.
