Mangere Maintains Food Hygiene Grades
Inspections carried out on Mangere food premises by Manukau City Council last month has shown a consistent percentage of “A” Grades have been maintained. The percentage of “A” grades was 82% compared to 83% from the previous six monthly assessments last October.
“B” grade results stayed the same at 13 (8%), however, D grades were up slightly from 4 to 7 (3% to 5%) and most positively “E” grades went down from 10 to 8 (6% to 5%).
Environmental Health Team Leader, Ian Milnes says, “Well done to all the food premises owners in Mangere who have received A grades. We are pleased to see that they are making a wonderful effort to maintain hygiene standards. However, there is always more work to do.”
Mr Milnes says that the public must continue to act as watchdogs on hygiene quality by asking to see certificates of premises where they shop or obtain food. They can also check the Food Grading Certificate List on Council’s website www.manukau.govt.nz, at their local library or by calling Council’s 24x7 Call Centre 262 5104.
The certificates are A4 sized, printed in colour and with the rating figure displayed prominently in large print. GRADES ACHIEVE – MANGERE WARD
