Update To The 'Troops'

Update To The 'Troops'

It was good to see several hundred 'rebels' on the March yesterday - could have been more if the organisers had done a bit of advertising etc.

But numbers were not important on the day, the march was just another symbol of ratepayer discontent - it is other sets of numbers which will shake this arrogant ARC - and be the catalyst for Minister Chris Carter to step into this deteriorating regional government.

Those numbers are;-

Those thousands of ratepayers who have withheld payment of their rates - either in part or in full; and

The tens of thousands who have signed the Rodney Protest and the Rebellion Petition.

This rebellion has the solid base of countless thousands of Aucklanders each making an individual protest in their own way. And the total protest strength comes from that grass roots level.

The ARC is sunning scared - there can be no other reason why it is not revealing how many ratepayers have not paid.

Rebellion leaders will be meeting on Monday morning to confirm the next stages of this campaign - a campaign which will go on until we achieve what we are all demanding, a resetting of the rates.
