News Release 12 March 2004

Purpose-Built Apartment Development Approved for College Street

A $28 million, eight level, purpose-built development is being marketed for the first time this weekend.

The 56 apartment Trinity development on College Street, in Wellington’s inner-city is being undertaken by specialist Wellington property developer Globe Holdings.

Leading architectural practice JASMAX has been responsible for designing the Trinity development. All resource consents have been granted, making way for construction, which is expected to commence later this year. Demolition of the existing building is scheduled to begin within three months.

“Our objective with Trinity was to create a unique high quality apartment development, taking advantage of the inner city location and bringing together innovative design with the highest quality specifications and finishes,” says Andrew Fawcet, Director of Globe Holdings.

“There has been considerable interest from people looking for this type of apartment with seven apartments valued at $3.5 million already sold or under contract. The level of interest shown to date highlights the inherent value in this development.”

Mr Fawcet said that Trinity was appealing to intending owner-occupiers. Construction is expected to be completed and the new owners in residence in 18 months time.

The apartments range in price from $365,000 for a two-bedroom apartment to $665,000 for a three-bedroom penthouse apartment. These prices include a secure undercover on-site car park valued at $30,000 and a storage locker.
