Regional parks online
With school holidays approaching a great place to find ideas for fun, free and hassle-free activities is the ARC website’s newly revamped regional parks pages.
The updated site at www.arc.govt.nz/arc/auckland-regional-parks has a huge amount of information about activities, locations and facilities. There is a regional map showing the location of all 21 regional parks, with links through to information on each of the parks.
There is detailed information on how to get to each of the parks, what you will find and what you can do when you get there. Links to the Metservice and tide chart information are included so you can check out the conditions before you decide which park to visit. There are also new screensavers to download featuring photographs of some of Auckland’s most spectacular landscapes.
“Our market research has shown that people want information at their finger tips and the ARC website allows us to meet that need,” stated ARC Parks and Heritage Committee Chair Bill Burrill says.
Further planned upgrades include downloadable maps with walking tracks and other facilities clearly marked.
“From specific inquiries such as where in the Auckland region you can go mountain biking to checking out the activities available at your nearest regional park, the site has all the information needed to organise a fun filled school holiday,” Cr Burrill says..
