Bus delays in Wellington due to Hikoi
Bus delays in Wellington due to Hikoi
Stagecoach Wellington is expecting delays to most of its services through the Central City on Wednesday 5 May, 10am to 2pm, due to the Seabed/Foreshore Hikoi march from Chaffers Park to Parliament.
Stagecoach will be implementing route diversions around the march route and most buses will be affected at some point of their service through the central city.
Stagecoach is working with Wellington City Council and Greater Wellington to minimise disruption and uncertainty for passengers. Diversions will be only put in place for the minimum time necessary. Customers should plan to use their normal stops and bus stop notices will be in place specifying alternative stops when required.
In addition to the main march there is also likely to be a second march from the University via the Terrace that will directly affect routes 17, 20, 22 and 23.
The march from Newton via Adelaide Rd should not affect services apart from short-term delays at intersections.
Customers planning to
travel between 10am and 2pm should allow extra time for
their journeys and be prepared to use alternative stops as
directed.
