CBC retracts statement on Bypass direct action
CBC retracts earlier statement on direct action against Bypass
Campaign for a Better City Incorporated (CBC) today advises media that the statement supporting direct action against the proposed Wellington Inner-city Bypass, in a weekend press release by Campaign for a Better City, should have been attributed to Anti-Bypass Action, another group opposing the project.
While understanding the reasons why members of the community wish to take direct action against the Bypass, CBC itself does not advocate or threaten illegal action. CBC is in the process of winding-up and the comments endorsing direct action were not authorised by the committee of CBC.
