Mackenzie Basin Petition Presentation Looms
The Mackenzie Basin Community will come together on the top of Mt Mary this Saturday in a show of support for local farmers in their fight to have irrigation and stock water returned to them by the Government.
Former Mackenzie Basin farmer, Bruce Scott, is behind a petition that’s backing the farmers and receiving strong support throughout the region. The petition will be presented to National Party Leader, Dr Don Brash and Environment Spokesman, Hon Dr Nick Smith, who will take it to Parliament.

Time: 10:30am
Location: Meeting at Mt Cook Salmon Farm – on the Tekapo Canal and transfer by 4-wheel drive to the top of Mt Mary. (By car the Salmon Farm is 15 minutes from Tekapo. After Tekapo turn right off SH8 on to Tekapo Canal Berm Road)
The presentation will be followed by lunch on site.
