Final call for environmental awards
For immediate release: Thursday 19 August 2004 A final call has gone out for nominations for an award that celebrates the region’s environmental heroes.
Environment Bay of Plenty’s Environmental Awards close on Friday 27 August so time is running out, says coordinator Sheree Phillips. She says that, if people don’t hurry, “they’ll be too late”.
The awards celebrate people, community groups and educational organisations that are helping to improve and protect the region’s environment. Anyone can nominate a person or organisation. You can also enter yourself.
Each category has up to three awards, with winners receiving up to $1000.
For an application form contact Sheree Phillips on 0800 ENV BOP (368 267), email info@envbop.govt.nz, or check Environment Bay of Plenty’s website on www.envbop.govt.nz.
