Part of SH17 passing lane closed north of Durey Road
Transit New Zealand has closed the first 200 metres of a passing lane on State Highway 17 north of Durey Road in Dairy Flat, Auckland. The passing lane will be closed for approximately two months while essential repairs are undertaken. The rest of the passing lane (approximately 1.5km) will operate as normal.
Transit Regional Manager Wayne McDonald says the passing lane has been closed temporarily so vital repairs can be made to the lanes, which are suffering from subsidence.
"We have done this as a safety precaution while we complete repairs. This area is known to suffer from localised areas of subsidence and is being monitored by our consultants.”
