Zoo's Furry Friends' Picnic for everyone! Sunday 24 October 10am-2pm
Goldilocks and the Three Bears have declared an "all inclusive" policy for Auckland Zoo's Furry Friends' Picnic on Sunday 24 October – and that means every furry toy under the sun is invited!
The Furry Friends’ Picnic begins Auckland Zoo's summer series of day and evening events.
It's also Baby Bear's birthday. And mother bear and father bear, who don't think it's fair that only teddy bears have picnics, have pulled out all the stops to make it a fun day of celebration for everyone.
"All creatures are equal here at the zoo, and furry toy tigers, lions, penguins, kiwis and all other toy animals will be just as welcome as teddy bears," says Auckland Zoo Events Co-ordinator Jackie Sanders, who's been liaising with the bears.
With the help of Goldilocks, the Three Bears have organised an aweome DJ, invited their mate Bob the Builder, a magician, Carmel's Facepainters, fairies galore, and lots of other fun characters. There are heaps of games planned for children and their furry toy friends to take part in, and some great give-aways and prizes to be won.
So kids, gather up your toy Furry Friends and your favourite grown-ups, bring a picnic (or purchase a yummy hamper from Darwin's café) and head to Auckland Zoo on Sunday 24 October between 10am – 2pm. You can even come dressed as your favourite animal!
Every child who brings a Furry Friend gets a special treat. Your summer of FUN starts here at Auckland Zoo this Labour Weekend!
Normal Zoo admission prices apply. Friends of the Zoo – FREE ENTRY. Further details at www.aucklandzoo.co.nz or phone the Infoline (09) 360 3819.
