Botany Library to host author of Desert Rose
Chinese Author Weijun Collins will talk at Botany Library about her incredible book Desert Rose, inspired by her own life.
Born into a high ranking Chinese family, Weijun's life changed dramatically when her father denounced the Chinese Communist party. She spent ten years in the isolated Gobi Desert, and another ten years living in a cave braving temperatures of minus 45 ºc. Her story is one of terror, bravery and love.
Botany Library will have a signed copy of the book to giveaway, thanks to Penguin. Copies of the book will also be available to purchase from Whitcoulls staff.
The evening event is at Botany Library on Thursday 25th November, at 7.00pm. Weijun Collins will also be visiting Pakuranga Library on Tuesday 23rd November at 1.00pm.
