Petitions trigger bylaw review
Two petitions presented to the Planning and Regulatory Committee have triggered a closer look at the timing for the review of the Auckland City Consolidated bylaw.
Councillor Glenda Fryer, Chair of the Planning and Regulatory Committee said the committee considered petitions from the public on Tahuna Torea Reserve and the use of fireworks in public places.
“Both petitions were worthy,” said Councillor Fryer. “However, we will need to take a closer look at the priorities of Auckland City’s bylaw review to determine when these bylaws can be considered.”
Councillor Fryer asked for a list of the bylaws due for review be presented to the March committee meeting. Members will then debate and prioritise the review list.
