New Upper Hutt Cosy Club opens
Upper Hutt Mayor Wayne Guppy officially opened the new $6.8 million Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Club today.The original building was totally destroyed in a fire on 9 September 2005.
Club President John Dillon said much planning,member surveys,visits to Australia and other clubs enabled the club to bring together the best ideas that could be included in the expanded new club.
The newest such club in NZ boasts a restaurant,cafe area,large sports bar , performance and dancing area , snooker and pool area plus a quiet room for members .
The
building was completed by Mckee Fehl Constructors.
