Citizen's Advice Bureau Offers Bi-Lingual Help

Mangere Citizen's Advice Bureau Offers Bi-Lingual Help

The Mangere Citizens' Advice Bureau is now able to offer free, expert, on-site advice in welfare and consumer matters. It has arranged to have 2 advocates, fluent in Tongan, available by appointment.

Mangere CAB Manager, Patricia Koekemoer says, "Many of our residents needing help in these matters are often at a loss as where to go for information, or simply do not have the resources to consult a lawyer for advice. We are fortunate to have both a Consumer Advocate and a Welfare Advocate who are fluent Tongan speakers available from 4pm each Wednesday.

"We are limiting the clients to 2 appointments per week each, so it will be on a 'first come first served' basis. It will be important to phone well in advance to book as I am sure this will be a popular service. Please phone: 275 6885 Monday to Friday between 9.30 and 3.30 to make enquiries or to book for the service."

Mangere Cab is one of 6 CABs situated throughout the city; the others are the Manurewa CAB; Otara CAB; Pakuranga - Eastern Manukau CAB; Papatoetoe CAB and the Howick Information Services.
