The Enterprise Waitakere Trust Board today announced the appointment of John Wadsworth as Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Waitakere.
Mr Wadsworth will replace departing CEO, Clyde Rogers as head of Waitakere City's economic development agency.
Mr Wadsworth, who holds degrees in Economics and Commerce, was previously employed as a Business Manager for Enterprise Waitakere. He led the development of key industries in the region and established a number of employment and skills related initiatives.
"John's experience, vision and understanding of the economic needs of Waitakere were important factors in his appointment," said Enterprise Waitakere Trust Board Chairman, Bryan Mogridge.
"We had an unprecedented number of extremely well-qualified candidates for the role which is testament to the reputation that Enterprise Waitakere has built in the wider business community under the guidance of Clyde Rogers," he said.
"We look forward to furthering that reputation in the capable hands of John Wadsworth."
Mr Wadsworth is a regular speaker at Social Policy and Economic Development forums around the country.
"Waitakere has a great future ahead of it and I'm looking forward to being a part of the team that helps the City realise its full potential," said Mr Wadsworth.
Mr Wadsworth will commence as CEO on 1 August. Mr Rogers has left to take up the position of group manager of the new Auckland Regional Economic Development Unit at the Auckland Regional Council.
