MEDIA RELEASE 5 September 2005
'Last Chance' Election Meeting
Glenfield residents are offered a last opportunity to meet candidates at a public meeting on Wednesday 14th September just three days before polling day.
The Glenfield Community includes parts of two Parliamentary constituencies, Northcote and East Coast Bays and candidates from both constituencies have been invited to attend and speak at the meeting. There will also be an opportunity for questions.
The meeting will be at 7.30pm and will be held in the Glenfield Senior Citizens Hall, in the Mayfield Centre, Mayfield Road.
Glenfield Ratepayers chairman David Thornton will chair the meeting.
David Thornton said today, "This election is obviously going to be very close and the party vote will be critical in deciding who will lead our country for the next three years. But is it also important that voters get every opportunity to meet candidates who are seeking to represent our Glenfield residents. This public meeting will provide the last opportunity before the election to hear from all the competitors in the race for the Beehive".
