Game on for Windmill Park bookings
AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL
MEDIA RELEASE
9 June 2006
Game on for Windmill Park bookings
Community groups are encouraged to make use of the hard courts at Windmill Park following the departure of Auckland Netball Centre to new facilities at Ngahue Reserve in Mt Wellington.
The courts, which are floodlit at night, can now be booked through Auckland City’s park bookings service for netball, tennis or other sports groups that could utilise the hard surface for games or training.
Local residents will also have continuing public use of the court on a casual basis, however groups who have booked it will take precedence.
Those interested in making a booking can call Jenni Allott on the Auckland City park bookings number, 09 634 4761.
The council is currently working to arrange a tenant for the building, which was recently painted and has had some minor repairs. Public access to the courts will be maintained with the new lease agreement.
