Great Response to ‘Wobbly Arts’ Exhibition

The Dunedin “Wobbly Arts’ exhibition organisers’ final date for acceptance of art-works on paper, canvas, photography sculpture, collage and ceramics from people with multiple sclerosis throughout New Zealand, is 5pm Friday 11th August 2006.

Event organisers Beverly and Bronwyn are so delighted with the response to the call for exhibitors. “It’s really great, we're well on track, with over 25 artists submitting over 60 pieces of work so far.” Bronwyn says. The exhibition’s guest artist will be well-known mixed media painter Aston Greathead from Blenheim.

“The Otago MS Wobbly Art Exhibition” is timed to coincide with the National MS Awareness Week from the 4th to the 10th September 2005.

The exhibition will be formally opened at the Dunedin Community Gallery, Princes Street, Dunedin on Sunday 27th August 2006 by Dr Vic du Plessis, neurologist and rehabilitation specialist at Dunedin Hospital and Isis rehabilitation centre. The exhibition will be open to the public from Monday 28th August to Saturday 2nd September 10.00 am till 5.30 pm. and Sunday 3rd September 2006 till 4pm.

The Otago MS Society provides practical and personal assistance, information, support and education for people with MS. Multiple Sclerosis or ‘MS’, affects approximately 3,500 people in NZ, with about 55% being female and 45% male.

‘There is still time for artists to present their work’, Beverly says. “This is a great opportunity for artists with MS to raise their profile in a national exhibition”.
