Migrant settlement, job search made easy

The successful nationwide roadshow 'Migrant Expo' is coming to Hamilton on
Saturday, 2nd September 2006 at the Novotel Tainui Hamilton.

The first ever settlement show and migrant job fair to be held in the
Waikato, it will be declared open by His Worship, Michael Redman, Mayor of
Hamilton.

The show organised by Migrant News is targeted at new and settled migrants,
international students, homestay families and overseas visitors. Entry is
free of charge from 10am-5pm.

Visitors can access information from a mix of stands including Education and
Training, Immigration, Government Departments, a Health Expo, Banking,
Community groups and a host of Settlement Service providers.

The highlight of the event is a JOB FAIR and an Employment Forum. Exhibitors
include employers, recruitment agencies and career advisors. Employers are
invited to email listings of job vacancies to migrantexpo@extra.co.nz to be
advertised free of charge at the show.

The forum¹s topic is: Skills shortages in New Zealand, but why are migrants
left out? The panel of speakers will include employers, recruitment agencies
and government representatives.

Another seminar on the day entitled 'Living in New Zealand' is organised by
the Department of Labour. This seminar to be held at 11am and 2pm, will be
asking new migrants about their lives in New Zealand.

And finally there will be an Immigration Seminar by Richard Howard, a
Director of the NZ Association of Migration and Investment, at 3:30pm. The
topic is: A Pragmatic Overview of Current Residence Policies.
