Work Begins On Upgrading Hobson Street
Work Begins On Upgrading Hobson Street
Motorists are advised of road works on Hobson Street in the central city starting on 27 January and continuing until 18 February, subject to weather conditions.
This work is required to restore the surface of this busy road and improve safety.
During the work a minimum of two lanes will remain open at all times. Work has been timed to take advantage of the Auckland Anniversary and Waitangi Day weekends, when fewer vehicles are expected on the road.
Repairs and resurfacing will take place outside of peak traffic times where possible to minimise disruption.
The work will take place in stages and focus on sections of Hobson Street as follows.
- Work between Cook and Union streets runs
from 27 January to 30 January.
- Work between
Wellesley and Cook streets runs from 30 January to 2
February and will be undertaken at
night.
- Work between Wyndham and Victoria
streets runs from 30 January to 18
February.
- Work between Welllesley and Union
streets runs from 8 February to 18 February and will be
undertaken at night.
This year Auckland City will invest about $40 million on resealing and maintaining the city’s 1415km road network.
