Free orientation programme helps migrants settle into Kiwi lifestyle
Manukau City Council’s Highland Park Community House is holding another of its award winning ‘Kiwi Life’ orientation programmes in February.
The programme, designed to help new migrants settle into New Zealand society more easily, consists of seven workshops providing a range of advice on finding a job, the education system, driving education, kiwi lifestyle, the health system, buying property and the New Zealand Police.
This year ‘Kiwi Life’ was added to The New Zealand Diversity Action Programme which was developed in 2004 by community leaders, councillors and religious leaders to strengthen cultural diversity and to promote positive race relations in New Zealand. Other partners include the Human Rights Commission.
The Kiwi Life programme starts Monday, 12 February.
