Panmure roundabout safety tips
Auckland City Council is encouraging motorists to visit its interactive website to learn how to use the Panmure roundabout safely and easily.
With six busy roads leading onto it, Panmure roundabout has the highest crash record of any intersection in Auckland city.
Last month, the council made adjustments to lanes leading into and on the roundabout to improve traffic safety and make it easier to navigate.
During morning peaks, some motorists using the Lagoon Drive and Queens Road approaches are experiencing delays. At all other times, traffic is flowing smoothly.
Traffic flow is expected to improve as motorists become more confident using the new layout. However, minor delays will continue as people return to school and work in the coming weeks.
People are encouraged to visit www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/panmureroundabout for helpful advice on how to use the roundabout correctly, including an interactive graphic teaching people correct lane use for their chosen travel route.
Auckland City Council will continue to monitor traffic flows, with a full review due in March when traffic has settled into its normal working week routine.
