Recognition For Young Volunteers
Recognition For Young Volunteers
If you know a young person who¹s doing great things in the community without pay - we want to hear about them.
That¹s the message from Volunteer Nelson and the New Hub as they head into Nelson¹s third Young Volunteer Awards. Coordinator Jude McNabb says the awards have proved to be a very effective way of promoting the positive work of young people.
³There are 260 young people who¹ve received an award in the past two years,² she said. ³We want to hear about teens who help backstage at school drama productions, mentors and peer support workers in schools, helpers at the SPCA, tree planters, sports team coaches, first aiders and other individuals and volunteer groups.²
Each
group must be a not-for-profit voluntary organisation, while
nominees must be between the ages of 12 and 25yrs.
Volunteering can be considered as, anything a person does of
their own free will, unpaid, for the common good.
Nominations close Friday June 1st. For more information or
for a nomination form contact Volunteer Nelson, Phone, 546
7681 or email nvc@ts.co.nz
