rugby player and Sportsman of theYear Cory Jane won overall
Sportsperson of the Year in the Upper Hutt Sports Awards
announced last night (Saturday 28 April).
Sarah-Jane Jones, artistic roller skater, was the Sportswoman of the Year. Her achievements in the last year included a bronze medal at the World Championships in Spain. She is the only New Zealander to ever win three World artistic medals.
The Upper Hutt Rifle Club - Gold Team - took out the Team of the Year award.
There were 52 nominations across 19 sporting codes from karate through to speedway.
