The Castaways Survival Day is North Shore City’s celebration of the New Zealand Post Book Awards.
North Shore Libraries children’s and teenage services librarian, Andy Nixon, says there will be plenty of activities and games to challenge any young castaway.
“The Castaways Survival Day is the perfect family afternoon out. Come and have a go at all the fun activities and you could win a HeliTranz helicopter ride,” she says.
“It is great to have the support of the Navy, MERC, DOC, the Commemorative Air Force and Project Jonah Whale Rescue. Their support will ensure this event is a great success”
The Awards encourage children to enjoy books, with activities and events planned nationwide in celebration of New Zealand’s best.
There will be events running throughout North Shore City from Tuesday, May 8 through to a Castaways Survival Day on Saturday, May 12.
