Regional Council receives 703
submissions
For immediate release: Friday 4 May
2007
Environment Bay of Plenty has received 703 submissions on its Draft Annual Plan and Proposal to move its headquarters from Whakatane to Tauranga.
Chairman John Cronin says the Council was expecting the high number of submissions, given the level of interest in the proposal.
“We know that there is a lot of strong feeling across the Bay of Plenty about the proposal. We’ll now go through the submissions, and those that requested to speak to them will get a chance later this month.”
Following the hearings council will consider the submissions before adopting the Annual Plan and any amendments to the Ten Year Plan next month.
