'Big Black Box' Development on Airport Story
Members of the Paraparaumu Airport Coalition will gather at the Kapiti Coast District Council offices tomorrow afternoon at 4pm carrying a Big Black Box symbolising the death of Open Space under developers’ plan for an industrial park on the airfield.
The big box will contain more than 700 individual public submissions, and the Airport Coalition’s submission, opposing the developers’ proposals.
The Coalition’s media secretary, Lyndy McIntyre, says the box will graphically illustrate what developer Noel Robinson has in store for Kapiti people.
“Dozens of big commercial boxes, a supermarket and a petrol station – nothing at all for aviation – and all designed for big profits with no real public consultation,” she says.
