Dick Quax welcomes Royal Commission of Inquiry
Mayoral candidate Dick Quax welcomes the announcement that a Royal Commission of Inquiry will be held in to how Auckland’s governance structure can be strengthened.
Cr Quax believes that the plan put forward by the local councils lacked vision and boldness.
“I voted against the recommendations put up by Manukau City officials because I was not satisfied that they went far enough”.
Everyone knows Auckland is the powerhouse of our national economy and currently it is being constrained. Improved governance will help unleash the region’s potential, says Cr Quax.
“I’ll be very interested to see the terms of reference for the inquiry but they will need to be broad to provide the best possible outcome.”
