Fundraising's In The Bag At Sold Out Starship Brunch
Fun, fashion and
fundraising are in the bag next Sunday (August 26, 2007)
when the Bag Ladies Brunch takes place at SKYCITY
Auckland.
The Bag Ladies Brunch is an annual fundraiser held on behalf of Starship Children's Health by the Friends of Starship North Shore and SKYCITY. For the first time in the five-year history of the event the Bag Ladies Brunch has completely sold out.
This year's brunch is raising funds for a new operating microscope for Starship's ear, nose and throat surgeons. It will replace the current model that is over ten years old and significantly outdated.
Liz Darlow, Friends of Starship North Shore Convener, says the 2007 Bag Ladies Brunch promises to be an exciting and entertaining event.
"The Brunch is being hosted by Mary Lambie and will showcase a fashion parade of well-known and emerging New Zealand designers and international labels. There will be delectable cuisine, a fantastic auction and a special presentation by designer and businesswoman Annah Stretton".
"Guests are encouraged to channel their inner designer and bring along their best bag creation to be in to win fabulous prizes," says Ms Darlow.
Last year's wining bag was a 'brief' case - a bag shaped like a pair of men's underwear.
SKYCITY Community Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Kylie Archer, says SKYCITY has a long-standing partnership with Starship Children's Hospital and is thrilled that the event has sold out.
"The Bag Ladies Brunch is always a fun and fantastic event that raises much needed funds for New Zealand children".
Designers on show include: John Zimmerman, Annah Stretton, Lucie Boshier Couture, Modes, La Cigale, James & August, Karen Millen, Susan Brown Lingerie, Icebreaker and Pumpkin Patch.
