Campbell says “bring it”
For immediate release
Keith Thompson seems to be into “hit and run” claims Michael Campbell. Mr Thompson has been writing letters to the editor saying that he’s standing for ECAN alongside Labour 2021 because Alec Neill is a member of the National Party. Mr Thompson is himself a former National party member.
Campbell’s response is terse: “Well Mr Thompson, meet me anywhere, anytime, anyplace and I’ll debate the issues with you, unaffordable rates, air and water pollution, transport strategy. Bring it on”. But Campbell adds a word of caution: “Be afraid Mr Thompson, firstly I’m Irish (so bulletproof), I was President of the college debating society and I’m almost as intelligent as Bob Kirk (another Labour 2021 ECAN councillor) – with a PhD in train, a master degree and a raft of business experience” Campbell finishes by saying “Keith Thompson should put up or shut up. I’m standing for ECAN because I want to debate the issues. The electorate can make its own decision if Mr Thompson can’t make it or perhaps its just that he needs Sir Kerry’s permission”
Michael Campbell is standing in Christchurch East for Independent Citizens in the forthcoming Environment Canterbury election.
