Nelson Voters Say Yes To Solar Energy
"Ninety percent of Nelson voters say YES to Solar Energy in an online poll conducted by the Hands Up team standing in the Nelson and Tasman 2007 local government elections," said Nelson mayoral candidate Kerry Marshall.
A key Hands Up policy platform is that a council led by Hands Up will bolster efforts to reduce air pollution in the Nelson City and the Richmond urban area.
"A Hands Up council team will, within the first six months of being elected, guarantee to study how we can best support domestic solar energy initiatives, and look at possibly dropping the council fees associated with installing domestic solar energy," said Mr. Marshall.
