Celebrations for International Talk Like a Pirate Day, Wednesday 19 September 2007.

Avast, me laddie! Strap on your cutlesses and stage a mutiny. The Museum of Wellington City and Sea is set to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day by hosting the Great Pirate Corporate Challenge. Everyone can participate and be in to win fantastic loot and booty.

How to be involved:

1. enlist a crew with suitable piratitude ($20 per crew of 5 max.)
2. cruise on down to the Museum with the crew to do the Treasure Hunt by 5pm Tues. 18 Sept
3. then gather the crew on Queens Wharf for the final challenge of pirate antics for official Talk Like A Pirate Day.

Captains – number of crews is limited so make haste to the Museum & enlist today. (No land-lubbers allowed).

On International Talk Like a Pirate Day (Wed. 19 September) Pirate Crews will battle each other in Peg Leg Relay Races & Tug of War for booty of ale & gold. Up for grabs in the Treasure Hunt prize draw is a trip to Treasure (Somes/Matiu) Island for all the matees.

Viewers to all the shenanigans will hear salty sounds & sea shanties performed by Plankton.
