Mayor Dick Hubbard
encourages all Aucklanders, whatever team they support, to
come and be part of the action.
“In the lead up to Auckland being the host city of the next Rugby World Cup in 2011, I hope rugby fans will come and share their love of the game and bring the cup to life on home soil,” says Mr Hubbard.
“I’m sure the atmosphere will be electric, with supporters showing their passion as we approach the business end of the tournament.”
The Marine Events Centre can be accessed from Halsey Street – or the Viaduct via water taxi from outside the Loaded Hog for $2.
The Rugby World Cup 2007 live site is produced by Auckland City Council in partnership with Visa, TV3 and Heineken.
Visa is the longest serving premium sponsor of the Rugby World Cup, with involvement dating back to the 1995 tournament.
