Waikato DHB Results Could Be Among The Last
Waikato District Health Board's electoral officer is advising candidates and the public that results in the DHB's elections could be among the last declared.
Waikato DHB covers 10 territorial authorities and stretches from Coromandel Peninsula in the north to Taumarunui in the south and takes in one eighth of New Zealand's land area.
"This timeframe was agreed between me and the Waikato DHB from the outset and is due to the complexity of Waikato DHB having one territorial authority undertaking some vote processing itself, with two others having their votes processed by one contracted provider and the remainder by another contracted provider," said Mr Lampp.
"I need to have either the voting papers or an electronic file for every territorial authority so that the health board votes can be processed through the single transferable vote (STV) system."
That calculation will be done in Christchurch, where Mr Lampp is based.
Any voting papers arriving at territorial authorities on Saturday (October 13) before noon, when voting closes, need to be couriered to Christchurch for processing.
At this stage a progress result is expected after noon on Sunday (October 14) and can be viewed on www.waikatodhb.govt.nz ends
