Thanks to the Young Vinnies
The pleasing sight of
boxes of tinned food being moved into the DCM food bank was
seen today after students at St Patrick’s College paid for
their mufti day in non perishables.
Maria Elenio
from the chaplaincy team at the college helped with the
delivery and said, “The Young Vinnies group at the college
organise the day and use it to support worthwhile
causes”.
Other food was dropped off to The Society
of St Vincent De Paul.
All 650 students at the Kilbirnie college have the opportunity to take part in the mufti day.
“The boys are meant to bring a gold coin and a can of food, but some just bring a can,” Mrs Elenio says with a smile.
DCM Director Stephanie McIntyre expresses her thanks to the school and the boys for their generosity.
“There’s still plenty of demand at the food bank so we’re delighted St Patrick’s thought of us and the food bank.”
