Wotscool Awards Cash Prize To Auckland Student


Winner pledges to donate 20% of the money to Plunket

Auckland, 1 May 2008 – In a heated midnight battle for WotsCool’s premiere two-thousand dollar cash prize, a frenzy of last-minute votes from friends and acquaintances sealed the prize for the winner.

Laura, a business studies student from Auckland, said ``I only got about two hours sleep in the last couple of days. The competition was tough, and I would just like to say thanks to everyone who voted for me and those who came through for me in the last few minutes!’’

The director of WotsCool, Peter Bull, said ``It was an intense finale. I think it’s fantastic to see part of the winnings going to a good cause.’’

The runner-up, also a student, was awarded a consolation prize of $300 for his contribution to the website.
