Fire in Civic Administration Building
There was an electrical fire earlier this morning at Auckland City Council’s Civic Administration Building, 1 Greys Avenue caused by a fault on the main switchboard for the building’s lifts.
Staff were evacuated at 10am for approximately 45 minutes but have now returned to the building and business is carrying on as usual.
The switchboard and surrounding area suffered minor damage.
Fire safety officers are currently further investigating the cause of the fire. The lifts are not in use while this investigation is underway.
