Hula down to Mission Bay for Winter Splash
Are you brave enough to get your Hawaiian gear on and bound into the water at Mission Bay on Sunday, 6 July for Auckland City Council’s annual Winter Splash event?
With a Hawaiian theme to brighten the winter weather, there will be a big dig for the kids at 10am, followed by the swim at 10.30am with prizes for best costume.
Other entertainment and activities on offer include special guests, live music, waka paddling and a mechanical surfboard until noon.
Arts, Culture and Recreation chairperson, Councillor Greg Moyle encourages people to take part. “This event is a permanent fixture on Auckland’s event calendar and a fun day out for families to celebrate winter at one of our city’s favourite beaches.”
People can register from 9am for the swim. All participants go in the draw to win some great spot prizes. This year’s event is supported by the Auckland East Rotary Club, 91.8 More FM, and Hot Cycles.
