Boaties - please check your moorings
Boaties - please check your moorings
Environment Bay of Plenty's harbour master is advising all recreational boat owners to check their moorings as bad weather is forecast to hit the region again tomorrow.
The Metservice has forecast strong winds over many parts of the North Island with sustained heavy rain affecting Western Bay of Plenty from Tuesday afternoon or evening and continuing into Wednesday.
Regional harbour master Carl Magozinovic advises boaties with swing moorings or with boats in the marina, to check that their moorings are secure.
Over the weekend the harbour master team responded to one boat that broke its mooring in Tauranga Harbour during the bad weather. No boats broke free from their moorings in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
