YMCA Tauranga Cleans House To Pave Way For A New
Home
For years now the YMCA Tauranga has been looking for a new, permanent home and new CEO Amy Thaler must now make this happen. “Our current building is scheduled for demolition to make way for a new development and now we really must find a suitable home for the Y” says Thaler. Thaler and the Board of Directors are working hard on this project and believe it is a legacy they must establish. Creative solutions including partnering with another synergistic organisation are being discussed but a solution has still not been found.
In preparation for the impending move, the YMCA team is cleaning house. An enormous garage/bake sale is scheduled for Saturday, September 6 from 7:30 am to 12:00 pm at the 82 Devonport Road location. Our OSCAR (Out of School Care and Recreation) Centres will be baking up a storm to provide sustenance for people as they search through the sea of treasures which include art books, rollerblades, tools, computers, printers, tables and much, much more!
