World Record Attempt – all for Charity!

World Record Attempt – all for Charity!

Capital Cause Charitable Trust is running a unique fundraising event in Wellington on Sunday 14 December. All proceeds will go to the Wellington City Mission Christmas Appeal.

Capital Cause is setting out to create its own world record for adults playing good old fashioned children’s games, musical chairs and pass the parcel. Participants donate $10 to play, with all proceeds going to the Wellington City Mission Christmas Appeal.

Capital Cause is a Wellington based charitable trust formed three years ago by a five young Wellingtonians. ‘We had lots of energy and felt the need to participate more in our community. It was also apparent that our demographic was being missed by many charitable organisations and causes,’ says Trustee Lee Hales.

‘We have run a variety of events including speed dating for the Royal Foundation of the Blind, retro garden bar bingo for Wellington Women’s Refuge and Wellington City Mission and a cocktail and movie preview for Look Good Feel Better’.

All Capital Cause events aim to align fun, sociable activities with a good cause. ‘We aim to have 150 people playing on Sunday and also encourage people bring along suitable items for the foodbank or toys suitable for Christmas gifts. The City Mission team will be onsite to collect items and 91ZM are sending along a Black Thunder to MC the games’.

Anyone keen to support by not able to make it on the day can donate at www.givealittle.co.nz/org/capitalcause/project/musicalchairs.
