NZL signs Ports of Auckland as major customer for Tauranga container terminal
Transport and logistics company NZL Group announced today that it had secured Ports of Auckland as a major customer for its planned Sulphur Point Container Terminal.
Director Ken
Harris said he was delighted to be working with New
Zealand’s largest container port.
“We’re excited
by the additional opportunities that could be offered to
customers following re-establishment of the NZL container
terminal at Sulphur Point,” Mr Harris said.
"The opportunity to offer additional supply chain options to exporters and shipping customers can only be positive for all parties and the economy of the wider region.”
“We are very much looking forward to offering a full range of service options across modes – rail, sea and road – and giving customers a choice of port gateway location.”
Mr Harris said the existence of NZL’s agreement with Port of Tauranga was not a surprise to the shipping community as it was referred to in Port of Tauranga’s 2004 Annual Report.
