Incident at Fox Glacier
Fox Glacier Guiding today said the tourist caught in a rock fall on a guided trip on Fox Glacier yesterday was discharged from hospital last night.
“We are pleased to hear that our client is okay,” said the chief executive of Fox Glacier Guiding, Rob Jewell.
“The safety of our clients is of paramount importance so we will certainly be reviewing our procedures to see if there is anything that can be learned from this incident.
“Our thanks go out to our staff and the emergency services for responding swiftly yesterday.”
The male tourist from the Czech Republic was on a guided trip with two others on Fox Glacier yesterday afternoon when the incident occurred.
