Rodney District Council’s
mayor, Penny Webster, says she is absolutely delighted that
the Minister of Transport, Steven Joyce, has listened to
concerns and has recognised the importance of the road North
of Puhoi.
Minister Steven Joyce’s announcement today that the road from Puhoi to Wellsford has been designated a road of national significance which is designed to bring the work on the road forward.
“I have talked to the Minister many times about the need for reprioritising this route especially the bypass of Warkworth
“The new toll road ALBURT B2 has been a great success however the tail back from Warkworth on weekends continues to be a concern.
“The Minister has obviously understood this issue and we as a Council look forward to working with NZTA on finalising a designation and getting on with the job.”
